Tulsa, which means ‘town' in Creek, is a cosmopolitan city with a simple flair. Fame and fortune were brought about with the discovery of oil in the early 1900's. Tulsa soon became known as the "Oil Capital of the World". Residents here are also proud of the art and entertainment venues, which feature ballet, opera and theater groups.
